diversity/equity/inclusion

At Ted Moudis Associates, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are essential values baked into our DNA. Our policy is to create a work environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential. Coming from various geographic racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, our personnel offer a wide range of perspectives that lead to healthy discussions and consideration of all approaches to workplace design. 40% of our staff were born outside the United States. We speak 22 different languages. 53% of our staff are women. We don’t just pay lip service to diversity, we live it. We believe that these values are not only morally correct but also beneficial to our team, our clients, and the communities we serve.

TMA is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our organization as well as through our work. Currently we:

  • Actively recruit and retain team members from diverse backgrounds and experiences. To further support this effort, we will begin crossposting our job postings to nycoba|NOMA as well as engaging with historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs)

  • Encourage an inclusive work environment where all individuals feel welcomed and supported.

  • We sponsor the ACE Mentor Program, which is an afterschool program designed to attract high school students into pursuing careers in the Architecture, Construction and Engineering industry, including skilled trades.

  • We believe in a level playing field and work with a number of MBE/WBE subconsultants on our projects. In order to make sure we are doing all we can, we have begun tracking our Tier 2 consultant spend it order to ensure we are working with as many diverse firms as possible.

  • Ensure that our work reflects diverse perspectives and experiences.

TMA is dedicated to promoting equity by treating all team members fairly and justly. We recognize that systemic inequalities exist, and we strive to create a workplace where these inequalities are not perpetuated. Currently we:

  • Provide equal opportunities for all team members to grow and advance in their careers.

  • Ensure that our policies and practices do not discriminate against any team member based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or any other factor.

  • Provide fair compensation, benefits, and resources to all team members.

  • Conduct annual salary reviews with all team members to ensure that everyone can be recognized for their hard work and considered for promotion.

TMA will continue to value inclusion. We recognize that everyone has unique skills, perspectives, and experiences that are valuable to our work. Therefore, we will:

  • Encourage open communication and collaboration among team members.

  • Provide training and resources to help team members understand and respect each other's differences.

  • Ensure that all team members have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

  • We have implemented a 1:1 mentorship program that pairs senior staff members with junior ones, with the aim of exposing both team members to new ideas and practices. The program affords younger team members with the chance to learn from company leaders and for leaders to be exposed to potentially new and different ways of thinking.

  • All our team members have access to our Paid Volunteer Time Off program, which allows them the opportunity to support the charitable organization of their choice.
