The design objective called for a cultural shift in the way the client used their current space which was
a very typical layout with perimeter offices and traditional open workspace. The design of the new
floors was to be a state-of-the-art, 21st century contemporary concept with flexible workstations and
an interconnecting stair. Bringing the private offices into the core and using flexible workstations with
low partitions to allow the maximum light to penetrate the space and allow easy communication achieved
the new intereior, which is bright and open. A feature area in the design was the integration of
a multi-functional pantry that would become an energetic hub with interactive plasma displays as well
as a touch down bar and mixed seating styles that allows the staff to work freely from their workstations.
Adjoining training rooms with flexible walls allow the architecture to morph into different
configurations when needed. The end result delivered remarkable breathtaking views of lower Manhattan.
