| Octapharma, a Swiss-based company, is a producer of high quality plasma derivatives and owns four modern, state of the art production facilities in Austria, France, Sweden and Mexico. Ted Moudis Associates was retained to design its new flagship headquarters in Hoboken, NJ. The design is centered on openness and sightlines that maximizes light and provides remarkable views overlooking Manhattan. Private offices and conference spaces wrap the perimeter, but through the use of full height glass partitions and doors, the space feels open and streamlined. A large reception area welcomes guests and also provides a relaxing lounge and computer touch down locations. A large café space is also placed at the perimeter to create a dynamic and open space for employees to collaborate and relax. Finishes and materials were selected that would create a balance between the existing/slick design aesthetic of their European offices and their presence here in the U.S. The wood tone throughout is a European oak. Carpeting and accent finishes convey Octapharma’s cool tones as well as their branding. A custom glass tile wall gives the allusion of cascading water and draws you into their open and sleek reception area. A video conferencing feature was installed to enhance collaboration with their overseas offices as well as the incorporation of a Modernfold partition in the larger/multi-function room. This allows for a flexible space for meetings, trainings and presentations. A more "client/boutique" conference room flanks the reception and overlooks Manhattan. |
