Ted Moudis Associates designed a new 16,000-square foot office for a young and dynamic investment management firm in a prestigious New York landmark building. The space imposes no obtrusive visual barriers between accommodations such as the reception/guest waiting area, boardroom, executive lounge, perimeter private offices, open workstations and trading suite. Simple and elegant furniture pieces were selected with rich upholsteries and textured leathers throughout the space. A casegood line with minimal detailing in a linear veneer was specified for both the perimeter private offices and interior workstations. Custom millwork tables, for both the boardroom and partner conference room, were designed to incorporate unique finish combinations and dramatic veneer selections. The sophisticated finish palate includes upholsteries and woven carpeting in rich ivory, charcoal and aubergene tones, anigre veneers stained in a unique cool tone, natural metals, and ivory tones lighten the space via composite tile flooring in the main reception. Tone on tone travertine and fabric wrapped panels add richness and texture throughout the space. The main reception and executive boardroom flank the trademarked elevator lobby and provide a grand view to Park Avenue while the functional/support spaces are tucked into interior/core spaces providing employees with natural day light and sightlines to the perimeter. Utilizing full height/seamless glass partitions and doors at the office facade also helped create an open and light space, while fostering collaboration between teams. This design respects the noteworthy building’s signature elements, including its signature luminous ceiling, as it celebrates the vision of the firm and its founders.
