| GFI retained Ted Moudis Associates to design their new trading floor and executive area, as well as a 5,000 square foot data center. Relocated from 100 Wall Street to 55 Water Street, The executive area consists of transitional office fronts, a combination of Walnut wood and glass with modern stainless steel metal inlays. Blue being GFI's corporate color, was introduced through the use of a rich, tip sheer wall to wall blue carpet which runs the length of the executive area. An executive waiting area is located on one end of the floor for use by exclusive clients. The executive bathroom provided the design team with the challenge of creating a luxury toilet area with handicap capabilities. Zebra wood houses the vanity cabinet and a Calcutta stone counter top was also installed, which holds a vessel sink. Penny tiles combined with 2x4 subway tiles line the bathroom walls with a crisp white palate. Simple, clean design lines with subway tiles and stainless steel appliances are used in the executive pantry. The continuity of the simplistic design elements describes the remaining open areas including the trading floor and data room. Custom trading desks with laminate top and blonde wood end panels create a warm and contemporary feel. The office fronts consist of custom metal and glass frames with wood doors. The
glass office fronts have a GFI blue film as a distraction element as well as for added privacy. The employee pantry provides the team with an opportunity to create a common area with a full pantry kitchen with a large dual glass stainless steel door and side by side refrigerator. We included counter-height seating as well as a separate eating area that can be utilized for impromptu meetings. Decorative light fixtures and open views of the trading area provide a harmonious atmosphere for work and play. |
